This course is with Captain Peter Godwin our Head of Training. Holders of an IFI(A) rating are limited to instructing licence holders for the issue of an Instrument Rating (IR(A)). It is the removal of the 'no instrument instruction restriction' from an FI Rating.
Pre-Entry Requirements
- Hold a valid Commercial Licence with a valid Instrument Rating.
- Have a total of 800 hours flight time in accordance with Instrument Flight Rules of which at least 400 hours shall be in aeroplanes.
- If the recorded flight time is by sole reference to instruments and not under IFR, then 1 hour sole reference to instruments may be counted as 4 hours flight by IFR.
Course Content
- The groundschool element will comprise a minimum of 10 hours.
- There will be a minimum of 5 hours flight training.
- You will need to pass a ground and flight examination with a CAA Flight Instructor Examiner.
We would suggest that you allow a minimum of two weeks for this course (depending on weather).
