the multi engine flight instructor course
This course is with Captain Peter Godwin our Head of Training.
Pre-Entry Requirements
- To be able to teach on multi engine aircraft, you will need to remove the restriction from your rating.
- Hold a valid single pilot Multi Engine Piston (Land) Class or single pilot Multi-Engine Type Rating.
- Hold a valid FI(A) with the supervisory restriction removed.
- Have flown at least 30 hours as pilot in command (PIC) on the applicable type or class of aeroplane 10 hours of which shall have been in the 12 months preceding the application. It should be noted that ME SPIC time is not allowable towards this 30 hours requirement).
Course Content
- Complete at least 5 hour of flight training in a multi engine aeroplane, flight simulator or FNPT2 simulator.
- Complete at least 25 hours of theoretical training.
- Pass the relevant elements of a FI Skill Test in a single pilot, multi engine aeroplane with a suitable qualified FIE(A).
We would suggest that you allow at least one week to complete this course (weather dependant).
